Environmental Groups’ Challenge Results in Termination of Nexgen Silica Water Permit
Ste. Genevieve, MO – Earlier this year, a coalition of environmental groups including Friends of Hawn, Sierra Club and Operation Sand joined forces to challenge a water permit issued by the Missouri Department of Natural Resources to Nexgen Silica, LLC for the proposed sand mining facility to be located in Sainte Genevieve County along Highway 32. Our efforts met with success and the water permit issued to Nexgen for the Highway 32 facility has been terminated.
